Lenten Study - A Lenten Study on the History and
Traditions of Lent, beginning Sunday, February 7 - Sunday, March 28th
2010 Community Lenten Services: Each service (sponsored by the
Greater Beckley Ministerial Association) is on a Wednesday and will begin
promptly at noon followed by a light lunch. Contact Beckley Presbyterian for

ages- at Pipestem State Park Indoor Pool! Sunday, March 28th 4 - 6:00 PM.
$5 a person.
**S.A.I.N.T.S. will be meeting on March 17th
after Lenten services. The discussion on retooling SAINTS continues as
we try to make our Women of the ELCA chapter more responsive to the interests
and needs of the women of St. Luke’s. All
women of the parish are invited to help us design a NEW "SAINTS" that
reflects our growing and changing congregation.
**The Most Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Dunkin, Bishop of
the West Virginia-Western Maryland Synod will be visiting St. Luke on Sunday,
March 21st. Bishop Dunkin will hold an open forum immediately following
worship regarding the 2009 Churchwide Assembly and the decisions concerning
human sexuality.
**Sunday, March 21st
we will hold our First St. Luke Soup Exchange. Bring a large pot
of your favorite soup to enjoy and share. Afterwards,
soups will be available for purchase, so your evening meal or Monday dinner is
already taken care of! Monies raised will go towards the building fund.
**Attention Youth! Start Planning Ahead Gang! We are
beginning to plan for our Summer Trip and are looking for dates of your
availability for a long weekend to travel to an amusement park for an overnight
trip. Let David know what weekends will work so we can select a good week for
our trip.
